Greatness

Yes, the Gators clinched their second national title in three years! I was there to witness greatness, not the kind you are thinking of though. Yes, their was greatness in the catches, the blocking, the interceptions, the rushing and all the pieces that came together to leave the Sooners riding their pony pulled wagon back to Oklahoma...

But the true greatness is in what you didn't see...

Tebow wore John 3:16 on his eye paint...on Friday John 3:16 was the number one most searched thing on Google in the USA.

Tebow through the game clinching touchdown, immediately pointed to the sky and prayed.

Three players that have had Tebow lead them to Christ all prayed together at mid- field after the touchdown that sealed their fate.

Tebow thanked his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in front of the entire Gator Nation and live audience before accepting the BCS trophy.

Percy Harvin spent his entire Christmas Break at UF alone to rehab his ankle, played at 80% in pain for his team.

Tebow Gator Chomped a defender from the other team that had called him "the fourth best QB in the country if that" after they had tried to injure Percy's ankle after a play, horse collared Chris Rainey causing a game ending injury and shoved Tebow after a big play... Tebow was the only one called for the personal foul, but the ref said on the next play after he was pummeled by the entire offensive and defensive line in a rush play that "Tebow was the only player that offered him and hand and asked if he was ok"

Brandon Spikes has an older brother, the only father figure he knows, in jail serving a life sentence for murder. He is the first to attend college, get a degree, become a Christian so that he can "prove that their is a reward to hard work and that no matter where you come from, you can be something".

The Pouncey Twins' father lost his leg in a tragic accident prior to the FSU game, the twins were going to miss the game but their father insisted not. Meyer and the coaching staff drove to be with the family many times between practices and the team wore bands in honor of him. Mr. Pouncey against the impossible odds, traveled to Miami to see his boys play.

Cornelius Ingram stayed for his senior season, missed out on entering the NFL draft, only to have a season ending injury prior to the first game. His stock fell in the draft, he never played a snap this year... but before the National Title game during senior speeches, he said "if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn't have changed a thing, he would have stayed to be with this team, to cheer for them on the sidelines and to witness greatness"....

That is what Thursday was, pure greatness...

as always it is great to be a Florida Gator
